There is a CD player on the boat so don’t forget to bring your favorite tunes. Music is a must for background listening, mood setting, and singing & dancing.
Food and dining are an important part of the memorable houseboat experience. It doesn’t have to be fancy or difficult to prepare but with a little thought it can taste gourmet. Plan your menus ahead and if possible prepare dishes at home and bring them along. Let everyone share in the cooking responsibilities and consider assigning different members of your group to be in charge of one dinner.
Definitely use the barbeque. This will be your most essential and versatile cooking tool because it can be used to cook just about anything. From toast at breakfast to a complete dinner menu, make the most use of your barbeque.
Water Sports all Around
If it is available, or in your budget, bring or rent a ski boat or sea doo. The houseboat is your base on a watery, sun-drenched amusement park. Hours and hours of entertainment are all around and lapping at the shore. No lines or tickets here just hop on and enjoy water skiing, tubing, wakeboarding and a variety of inflatable ride-on water toys. Adults and kids alike, no special skills needed, just hang on and enjoy the thrills.
Absolutely everyone on the trip should spend time on top of the houseboat, after dark, to gaze at the incredible night sky. This awe-inspiring view of the stars could possibly be the highlight of your trip. No hotel, not even one with five stars, can offer the heavenly sights of a houseboat.
